Petersfield & District Probus Club

As well as the regular monthly evening meetings with supper and a guest speaker held at The Half Moon, London Road, Sheet, the Club runs an active programme of walks, lunches and outings in which wives and partners participate.  Currently there are some 40 active members and 10 retired members. Walks in 2015 included Selborne Hanger, Kingsley Common, Fynings Hill, Hooksway, East Meon, Longmoor Ranges, Chichester Harbour, Compton and Milland. Outings in 2015 have included visits to The Submarine Museum at Gosport, The Royal Armouries at Fort Brookhurst, The Royal Greenjackets Museum at Winchester and the Royal Marine Association band concert at the Southsea Royal Marines Museum. Earlier outings have included Exbury Gardens, Bletchley Park, Wickham Vineyard, The Mansion House and Bank of England in London, Whitchurch Silk Mill and Hartley Park Lavender farm.





2017 marks the club’s fortieth anniversary and planning is underway of celebrate the occasion with a special event.

The visits arranged for 2016 are:

Thursday 21st April: New Theatre Royal – Guided tour, lunch at the Still & West, Old Portsmouth.

Tuesday 17th May: Evening visit to Liphook Equine Centre & Hospital, supper at The Links Tavern.

Tuesday 21st June: Watts Gallery at Compton, view the newly opened gallery & other exhibits, lunch at The Watts Gallery.

Friday 9th December: Christmas Lunch at the Petersfield Lunch Club..

The club undertakes charitable collections and as well as donations to many well-known charities money has been raised in the recent past for a variety of organisations including Help for Heroes, Petersfield Festival of Youth, The Salvation Army, Gosport Submarine Trust, Dreams Come True, The Rosemary Foundation & bThe Fitzroy Organisation.
